Jessica + Stephen's romantic industrial loft wedding
From Jessica: "Like many girls, I’d been looking forward to planning my wedding since I was little. When I found the venue, BRICK in San Diego, Stephen and I both fell in love with the warehouse-like feel. We knew the indoor location meant we’d have no weather-worries, and the versatile brick space could be transformed in a million different ways. Its location just off the water within Liberty Station provided an amazing destination wedding feeling for our guests, with plenty of local attractions to visit while in town.
I love a bolder statement when it comes to design, and wanted to keep the pink aspect modern and grounded but still classic, so I used black as our other dominant color. Our rings are rose gold, so I incorporated copper accents to tie it all together. Dark farm tables and black sequin table runners served as a base for the flower arrangements, rose gold votive candles, and black Kate Spade-esque satin napkin bows.
Pink has been my favorite color since birth, so knew I wanted to incorporate it into the floral design as much as possible. I grew up with a pepper tree and bougainvillea bush outside my bedroom window, so we tucked bits of those into the arrangements. A beautiful mix of dahlias, peonies, protea, carnations, amaranthus, eucalyptus, and other assorted greenery filled out the whimsical bouquets and centerpieces."
"We wanted to have a fun, yet elegant affair, so knew we had to have fancy tacos! Tacos and tuxes seemed like the perfect mix for us. Our amazing caterer provided us with fresh ceviche, guacamole, and cactus quesadilla appetizer stations followed by a dinner buffet of gourmet tacos and condiments, complete with handmade tortillas made on-site in front of the guests. While tacos are a Southern California staple, they were also a playful gesture to our honeymoon in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Another unique element everyone enjoyed was our projection of the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding over the dance floor! Stephen is Greek and with much of his extended family in attendance, it was a fun nod to the festive family occasion (and why you may spot a bottle of Windex in a few of our shots – courtesy of my jokester dad!)."
